Common American spring-flowering woodland herb having sheathing leaves and an upright club-shaped spadix with overarching green and purple spathe producing scarlet berries. Synonyms: Arisaema atrorubens, Arisaema triphyllum, jack-in-the-pulpit, wake-robin.
