Tall North American perennial with creeping rootstocks and narrow leaves and spikes of pinkish-purple flowers occurring in great abundance in burned-over areas or recent clearings; an important honey plant. Synonyms: Epilobium angustifolium, fireweed, giant willowherb, rosebay willowherb.
